New Beginnings was started in November, 1989 (it was then known as the AA Pregnancy Help Center). This organization was started as a satellite of the pregnancy center in Lexington, KY.
The need for a pregnancy center in Winchester was evident in 1989. That need is still evident, as the center currently serves 700 to 800 needs per year, reaches over 1,000 middle-schoolers with abstinence education in the school systems, and is very involved in community outreach.
Funding:
New Beginnings relies on donations from area churches. Other sources of funding are grants, fund raisers, and individual donations.
Who Do They Primarily Serve?
New Beginnings primarily serves Clark County; however, they also serve individuals from Estill, Powell, and Montgomery Counties.
